Asiwaju S.K. Onafowokan is a seasoned Administrator with over 40 years experience in corporate management. Recently retired from Chellerams Plc, where he served as the Deputy Chief Executive, he is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company.
Asiwaju S.K. Onafowokan is the immediate past President of the Lagos Chamber and is currently a member of the Board of Directors, and the Policy & Executive Committee of the Chamber. He is also a member of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines & Agriculture (NACCIMA), Nigeria Employers' Consultative Association and Manufacturers' Association of Nigeria. Asiwaju is currently the Chairman of a number of companies among then are: Yodesons Nigeria Limited, Eskay Petroleum Limited, Danman Plastics Limited and Artee Industries Limited (owners of Park & Shop, Cascade Water and Millennium Furniture). He also serves on the Board of several companies as Board Member and/or Director.
Asiwaju Onafowokan is a native of Sagamu, Ogun State and holds the highest chieftaincy title of the land as the Asiwaju of Remo Kingdom, a title last held by the late elder statesman, Chief Obafemi Awolowo OFR.
Mr. George O.K. Onafowokan is a holder of Accounting and Finance BA (Hons) from Manchester Metropolitan University, Manchester UK, and also a master Degree in Management and Information Systems (Combined) from University of Salford, U.K. He worked for 2 years with Packard Bell UK as Field Manager, then joined PC World UK as Business Accounts Manager for 3 years. He also worked with some International Financial Management and Trading firms in the United Kingdom. He returned to Nigeria in 2002 to lead the team to restructure Coleman as Managing Director/CEO, and grew the Company's asset base from N50 Million to Over N5 Billion by the end of 2009.
ENGR. MICHAEL OLUSEGUN K. ONAFOWOKAN - EXECUTIVE DIRECTOREngr. Michael O.K. Onafowokan is an MEng. Degree holder in Chemical Engineering from Loughborough University, U.K. He also holds a diploma in industrial studies and is an associate member of the Royal Institute of Chemical Engineers, U.K. He worked for ICI (Salt Union), UK in production and quality assurance for 2 years after which he left to join Coleman as Executive Director in charge of Production and Technical.
MANAGEMENT
The Company's Management Team consists of a crop of tested hands in manufacturing and various fields of endeavour. The Team is headed by Mr. George Olutope Kayode Onafowokan, the Managing Director/CEO and Engr. Michael Olusegun Kayode Onafowokan, the Executive Director and comprises of:
Yemisi Bode-Thorpe holds an LLB from Ogun State University and an LLM in Commercial Law from Cardiff University, U.K. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2001 and worked as a Legal/Administration Officer at United Geophysical (Nigeria) Limited.
Mr. S.O. Owolabi is the Company's General Manager in Charge of Finance. He is a graduate of accounting of the University of Lagos and has a Masters Degree in Business Administration.
He is also an Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA). His over 18 years post qualification experience covers various sectors of the economy including manufacturing at different managerial levels. He is in charge of the finance of the Company.
Engr. M.O. Ikpoko is an expert in cable making. His experience in cable manufacturing spans over 20 years. He holds HND Mechanical Engineering from Federal Polytechnic, IIaro.
He started his career in Siemens Cable, later known as Nigeria Cable Manufacturing and Engineering Company Limited (NCC) Kano in 1989, where he was trained in Production Processes and control. He left NCC Kano to join Northern Nigeria Cable Processing Company Limited (NOCACO), Kaduna as the Senior Production Coordinator. He later joined Nexans Kabelmetal Nigeria Plc, Ikeja as the Chief Supervisor, responsible for Cable Engineering processes and implementation of procedures in all machines and equipments.
He was an active member of the team that led Nexans Kabelmetal Nigeria Plc to receive endorsement by International Standards Organization (ISO) as meeting international standards.
Before joining Coleman, he was the Pioneer Production Manager of Cometstar Manufacturing Company Limited, Agbara and at one time was the Marketing Manager of the same Company. His contribution has brought about the magical growth of the Company within 3 years of existence.
Mr. Ikpoko has benefited greatly from participation in workshops and seminars in Organizational Dynamics and Strategic Management. His experience has earned him the most effective and efficient Production Manager in the cable industry in Nigeria.
Engr. Sunday O.L. Ashiwaju is a BEng degree holder in Electrical Engineering from Mechanical and Electrical Engineering School, Berlin, Germany. He worked for Nexans Nigeria Plc in the Quality Control for 18 years and before then, with Academy Press Plc and ABB Asea Brown Boveri Plc for 1 year each. Engr. Ashiwaju is in charge of Quality Control.
GRACE OLUBUKUN OGUNSOWO - CHIEF ACCOUNTANTMiss Grace Olubukun Ogunsowo is a qualified Chartered Accountant. She obtained her HND in accounting from Yaba College of Technology, Yaba Lagos, and also PGD in financial Management from Lagos State University. She worked with Yodesons Group of Companies from 1987 to 1996 and joined the Coleman team in 1996. She is in charge of the Company's Accounts.
MR. W.J. LAWAL - SENIOR TREASURY OFFICER/ADMIN MANAGERMr. W.J. Lawal is the Company's Senior Treasury Officer. With several years of Financial Management experience, he oversees the Company's local and international business transactions. He was in the Finance Department at Chellarams Plc before joining Coleman.
